Pastors Ken and Teryl Baker

In the summer of 2017, the Lord lead Pastors Ken and Teryl on a fantastic journey to plant Resurrection Church with the support and training provided by the Potomac Ministry District of the Assemblies of God. A core team of 7 people gathered in Fairfax, VA, at the Angelika Film Center lounge for weekly Bible studies. The group later moved to the Mosaic Community room.

On September 17, 2017, Resurrection Church officially opened its doors, and God continued to send people each week to hear the good news, the gospel of Christ.

We believe changing hearts, renewing minds, and transforming lives is God’s vision for His church. Our mission to embrace, encourage, and equip is genuinely an incredible tool to share the love and the grace of Christ to reach the community and the world! Members and ministry partners’ faithful commitment affords Resurrection Church to continue its mission and vision.

On December 15, 2019, the General Council of the Assemblies of God recognized Resurrection Church as a self-governing and self-supporting local body of believers. Resurrection Church commits to praying for and supporting local, and world missionaries, whom we believe are an extension of the local church. We support missionaries in the Nation’s Capital, various parts of Asia, and Egypt. Senegal is a recent project consisting of an aggressive plan to purchase rural and urban plots, build tabernacles, dig wells and clean water systems, and create training curricula. Resurrection Church committed to building one adult and one children’s tabernacle.

During the global pandemic, we continued to preach the gospel and serve those in the community needing food and clothing. Fulfilling our purpose of living in love, praying in faith, and growing in grace keeps us rooted and grounded in the Lord while exposing the works of darkness. Christ is working and moving through Resurrection Church. We give Him all the glory for what He has done and what He will do in the future! We are grateful for the Spirit’s guidance as there is still much work to bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and help them follow Him completely.
